FURRY ZONE

The area does exactly what it says on the tin. If its small and furry you will find it here; from rabbits to guinea pigs to chinchilla and gerbils this area has them all. This page aims to offer you a guide for some, or all of the attractions that may be available at the show. These pages are updated on a regular basis and it is essential that if you are travelling to this event for a specific feature that you email us on info@petshowsrus.co.uk or telephone (024) 7654 1055 to check that these animal or features will be attending the show.




Ever wanted to cuddle a chinchilla or wonder what it would be like to handle a gerbil, then wait no more. The pets corner offers the whole family the chance to play, hold, cuddle and care for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Gerbils and Chinchillas. It's great fun and you can play until your heart's content. The pet corner times are as follows:





We have competitions for all types of animals. Whether it is a rabbit a chinchilla or a gerbil we have a ‘Fun Show’ with a class to suit you. Classes range from ‘The prettiest eyes’ to ‘The fluffiest tail’ to the more serious ‘Best groomed’. Anyone can enter their fluffy friend and we don’t have an age limit. So no excuses, young and old alike can join in. All you need to do is bring your rabbit, guinea pig, gerbil or similar pet to the show and then choose a class to enter.

You can bring your own furry friend and find water, food and shelter. Simply come along with your pet in a suitable carrying case and we will provide somewhere safe for them to stay while you enjoy your day. If you don’t have a pet then don’t worry as we can lend you one of our tame friendly rabbits or guinea pigs to enter into the show instead.

However, before you borrow them you will need to spend some time with the handlers and help brush, feed and generally make them look cute. (please note we will not be permitted to enter our animals into the competition if you have not spent time with them and the handler in the zone first).



If you were ever interested in owning a similar pet then our resident experts are on hand to offer practical advice on the "do’s" and "dont’s" of caring for animals. All of our zones have resident experts that can answer even the most complex questions. Simply drop into the clinic and we can offer you help and advice on the best ways of caring for your pets. Whether it's feeding, health & wellbeing or simply how to best groom your rabbit, no question is too daft and if we don’t have the answer then our Vets Zone will be on hand to research the question for you. If you don’t want to wait until the show then email our experts beforehand and we will make sure your question is answered either before or at the show. As well as our "drop in clinic", a talk takes place twice daily at 11.30am and 3.30pm based on caring for furry animals this is specifically focused on people who are thinking about getting a Rabbit, Guinea Pig or Hamster for the first time. If you haven’t got time for the talk then just pick up our “I think I want a Rabbit Questionnaire” that will offer you some great help and advice and highlight the practical costs, time involved and the care and attention that your furry friend will need.
